We love good coffee. We prefer either a strong espresso or a cappuccino. Our love for coffee was the major reason for doing a barista course in Fremantle (Western Australia) last year. On our travels we are always on the hunt for the best cappuccino in the world. Until now we have not found the best but the nicest cappuccino. Do you want to know where our favorite cafe in Chiang Mai is? Continue reading
Somehow, our plan to visit the white temple in Chiang Rai seems to be jinxed. It almost feels like there is some higher power trying to prevent us from visiting the extraordinary Wat Rong Khun generally known as the White Temple. For a few years, the White Temple is now already very high up on our bucket list. Several times we have been very close to visiting the White Temple in the past but for some reasons we never quite managed it. So this time we really wanted to make it happen. Yes, we have been to the White Temple in Chiang Rai but even this time it was no easy task. Read on if you like to know what obstacles we had to overcome.
Have you seen images from Thailand with the sky full of lanterns? When we have seen the first images of Loy Krathong and the Yi Peng mass sky lantern release in Chiang Mai, we knew that we want to be there one day. This year, our timing was perfect and we managed to be in Chiang Mai during the Loy Krathong festival beginning of November.

This year we spend our mini-break in Thailand. As we live and work in the Maldives, Thailand is the perfect location to go for our short holiday because it’s easy and cheap to get there. We booked a flight with Bangkok Airways that takes us directly from Male to Bangkok in four and a half ours only. To board the aircraft we leave the airport terminal building and walk on the airport ground to the aircraft. This may not be possible in the future because the construction of a new passenger terminal with finger docks is in process. Continue reading
We love Thailand. We love it for its beautiful landscape, friendly people and of course the delicious and tasty food. Do you like Thai food? Do you also like to try all different kind of food, on street stalls or in local restaurants? We do. While travelling and exploring a country, food is very important to us. Why? While travelling we have time. Time for having elaborate meals in local restaurants, time to sit and talk to other travellers or locals. Continue reading
Wow, we are back in Bangkok. So familiar and still so new. Our first impression of Bangkok, civilized, clean with super friendly people and still exotic and we also like the big contrasts in Bangkok. Continue reading
