Are you ready for a scenic day trip in Switzerland? How about a visit to Mount Rigi where you can combine a scenic train ride to the top of Mount Rigi and a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne. We did this trip and the breathtaking views of the surrounding lakes and mountains left us speechless. There are many walking and hiking trails to choose from. Train ride on the Glacier Express from Zermatt to Chur
The ride on the Glacier Express through the Swiss Alps is an unforgettable experience. It was winter the last time we traveled on the Glacier Express. We rode through the middle of a snowstorm and because of the heavy snowfall, we haven’t really seen much of the beautiful landscape. All the more we are looking forward to ride on the Glacier Express through the Swiss Alps on this beautiful sunny summer day with crystal clear skies. With the Gottardino special train through the new Gotthard Base Tunnel
The new Gotthard Base Tunnel is 57 kilometers long and is the longest rail tunnel in the world. In December 2016 the tunnel will be opened for passenger traffic and will reduce the travel time from north to south substantially.
