Stuttgart is one of these cities where you could spend a lot longer than planned. The city is famous for fast cars, but also for good wine, traditional Swabian food and nice castles. We loved the lively city, especially the New Palace in the center, surrounded by a park where everybody is sitting outside and enjoying the sun.

  1. Visit the Schlossplatz, the perfect place to start your shopping or city tour.
  2. Spend a relaxing hour in the Upper “Schlossgarten” and observe the ducks swimming in the pond.

  4. Drink a tasty Dinkelacker beer made in the family brewery at Carls Brauhaus.
  5. Hop-on the Red cabriolet double-decker bus of STUTTGART Citytour and enjoy cruising around the city.
  6. Hop-off at the Mercedes-Benz Museum.
  7. Relax in the garden of the New Castle.
  8. Catch a 360° view of the city from the Television Tower and the Panorama Café at a height of 147 meters.
  9. Watch people while sipping a Stuttgarter Hofbräu Pilsner in a garden café at Königstrasse.

  15. See the new and spectacular building of the art museum at the Schlossplatz, right in the middle of Stuttgart.
  16. Join a performance at the state theater.
  17. Drink a “Glühwein” at the magical Christmas market.
  18. Be amazed of the cool Porsche sports cars at the Porsche Museum.
  19. Eat a Haxe at the Brewery Schönbuch where the traditional knuckle of pork is huge and delicious.

  20. Check out the Klett-Passage where you find an underground shopping arcade.
  21. Visit the Pig Museum. The exhibition has more than 45’000 pigs in all forms from piggy banks to plush toys.
  22. Check out the Breuninger flagship store, the famous luxury department store.
  23. Have a look at the huge or even monstrous construction site Stuttgart 21, the railway and urban development project.
  24. Meet students at the University Stuttgart and have a chat.
  25. Sightseeing at the Bohnenviertel in the old city. There are some interesting shops.

Restaurant tip: Eat in one of the cool breweries

Our favorite is the Brauhaus Schönbuch. The food is yummie and the portions are American style (=big). If you are very hungry it’s the perfect place to go. Nice garden terrace and friendly staff.

The brewery Schönbuch is a cool place to have a hearty dinner and a couple of beers. One of the things to do you should not miss.

We wanted to go for a beer and a nice dinner at the Carls Brauhaus. Unfortunately, it was fully booked. It’s one of the most popular breweries in the center of Stuttgart.

Are you short on time?

Do a Citytour with the Red Hop-on / Hop-off double-decker bus of STUTTGART Citytour. It’s a great way of seeing a lot of the city in a short time. The round trip takes approximately 100 minutes. There are 9 stops where you can Hop-on or Hop-off.
